On Friday Afternoon, Veteran NFL Official Gene Steratore announced his retirement from the league after years of service as a referee. Steratore is now the 4th official to retire this offseason--joining Jeff Triplette, Terry McAulay & Ed Hochuli. It is alarming that so many veteran & recognizable officials have decided to call it a career this offseason. But why is it that these officials are retiring?
