No Wonder Nobody Wanted the Cowboys Job

The Dallas Cowboys introduced Head Coach Brian Schottenheimer at a news conference yesterday and it turned into a platform for Jerry Jones to take the spotlight and explain his decision-making process. The collective eye-rolling was obvious as Jerry hijacked the microphone repeatedly to make his points. The awkward press conference doesn’t necessarily mean the Cowboys will be a bad team next year, but it does explain why none of the top candidates seemed interested in working for Jerry.

Doug Gottlieb: “I’m not sitting here telling you that (the) Jerry Jones, Brian Schottenheimer press conference means the Cowboys are going to be crummy, but it does signify that Jerry’s still running this ship, he still wants to explain it away, he wanted to top every story that was told there, and I’m sure the eye-rolling comes from his family after every public appearance where he makes it about him...Even that doesn’t mean the Cowboys won’t win but it does signify why so many would pass on that opportunity.”
