2022 W&S Open Rd 1 Serena Williams vs Raducanu

For the final time in her storied career, Serena Williams stepped out onto Center Court at the Linder Family Tennis Center to face off with the 2021 US Open Champions Emma Raducanu in the first round of the 2022 Western and Southern Open. In front of a sold out crowd, it would be the 19 year old Raducanu who would make a statement.

Anyone who has watched Serena in the last few months can tell the 23-time Grand Slam champion is not the Serena of old, but there were moments in the match that we saw the Serena in her prime flash. She managed to keep the first set close, but the young Brit would win the last 7 games, and take the match 6-4, 6-0.
