The last local player left in the 2022 Western and Southern Open, Caty McNally, looked to make her first appearance in the round of 16 Wednesday morning. She would first have to get by world #5 and 2022 Wimbledon runner up Ons Jabeur.

Jabeur would grab a couple of early breaks and take the first set 6-3. Caty would return the favor in the second set taking it 6-4. The final set would see both plays exchange breaks, before taking it to a tiebreaker. Both players would have three match points, but it would be the Tunisian who would capitalize on her third attempt taking the final set 7-6 (7).

McNally is now off to New York where the U.S. Open qualifiers await her.
