PHOTOS & AUDIO: 2025 Cincinnati Open Rd 3 Paolini vs Krueger

WTA action started match play in the 2025 Cincinnati Open on Grandstand Tuesday as Italian Jasmine Paolini took on American Ashlyn Krueger.

To get to this match, Paolini defeated former world #3 Maria Sakkari, while Krueger went through former world #11 Anastasija Sevastova.

The players warmed up under overcast skies, and at 15-15 in the first game of the match, rain fell delaying the match by 42 minutes. After the players returned to court, they would push the first set to a tiebreaker. It was at this point Paolini would take over. She would breeze through the tiebreaker, and also push through the second set quickly taking the win.

Jasmine Paolini defeats Ashlyn Krueger 7-6(2),6-1.

Paolini moves on to the round of 16 where she will play Barbora Krejcikova.
