Jim Harbaugh Shouldn't Be Blamed For Michigan's Failures Versus Ohio State

Joel Klatt: “Jim Harbaugh has done an unbelievable job at Michigan… He took over a team in 2014 who was 5-7 and had just missed a bowl game for only the third time. Ohio State won the National Championship that year, folks. I keep hearing people say ‘HE’S GOTTA BEAT OHIO STATE’. The margin between those programs is so big from where he took over and where he’s trying to get to. This is NOT the year to evaluate Harbaugh based on what he does against THAT Ohio State Buckeyes team. This Ohio State team is the best team I’ve ever covered since I’ve been in the booth.” (Full Video Above)

Listen to Joel Klatt explain to Colin Cowherd why he thinks Michigan Wolverines head coach Jim Harbaugh is receiving unfair blame for his inability to lead his alma mater past the rival Ohio State Buckeyes.

Coming off Michigan’s humiliating 56-27 home loss versus no. 1 ranked Ohio State, Harbaugh has now fallen to 0-5 versus the Buckeyes since he took over in Ann Arbor in 2015.

Klatt says it’s not right to blame Harbaugh for the gap between the two programs considering Harbaugh inherited a 5-7 Michigan team in 2014, which was the same year Ohio State won the National Championship. Klatt says Ohio State has put together the most dominant five-year run in school history and one of the most dominant runs of the decade, and you can’t just expect Harbaugh to flawlessly go from 5-7 to otherworldly juggernaut beating one of the best programs of the era as soon as possible.

Check out the video above as Klatt explains why this Ohio State team could be one of the best college teams ever, and it’s wrong to just expect Harbaugh to overthrow their ongoing Big Ten dynasty without some bumps along the way.
