Jason Smith: “It’s sad that this is the way Boeheim goes out. How is it this contentious? I understand if guys get pushed out, because this is how it goes in the world of sports. You age, and people start to question if you’re still the leader or if you’re holding the program back, if you hang on to long. But if you wanted to push Boeheim out, you need to find a better way to do it than this. There should’ve been a huge thank you and celebration for him... He was Syracuse basketball. He was the rock star or rock star head coaches. Boeheim and Coach K were the two big personalities in College Basketball. The guy coached USA basketball and the Olympics, and this is how he goes out: Like a crazy ass-backwards press conference that plays out like an Abbot and Costello routine. I don’t care, you find out a better way to do it so he it didn’t end up like this... I’m just so pissed that this is how it goes down.”
Tonight on The Jason Smith Show with Mike Harmon, Jason Smith gives his raw reaction to the mess surrounding Jim Boeheim’s retirement from Syracuse University after 47 years as their head coach. Listen to the full segment above!
