A day after winning the 500th match of his career, Gael Monfils would look to punch his ticket to the quarterfinals against Russian Andrey Rublev. Rublev coming off a victory against Marin Cilic, was not going to make it easy for the Frenchman. After a long back and forth match, the Russian would come out on top with Rublev beating Monfils in two tiebreakers 7-6 (2), 7-6 (5).
