When John Isner beat Sebastian Korda on Wednesday, he became the oldest player to ever make a Western and Southern Open quarterfinal in the Open era. If the 37 years old was going to make it to the semifinals, he was going to have to get by 24 year old Stefanos Tsitsipas.
The power game was on full display between these two as they matched each other blow for blow. The first set went to Tsitsipas in a tiebreaker. The second one fell in Isner's favor.
In the deciding set, Isner's age may have caught up to him, as Tsitsipas would take a couple of breaks and take the match.
Final Tsitsipas defeats Isner 7-6 (5), 5-7, 6-3.
